NS 3737 ─ Called "Jumbo"
This NS 3737 locomotive was built in the year 1911. It was the last steam engine of the Dutch Railways (NS) drove in the year 1958 and is now located at the Railway Museum in Utrecht the Netherlands. There is located also the first steam engine of the Netherlands, the "Arend". The total length of this locomotive is 18.48 meters (60.63 feet). The height of the drive wheels is 1.85 meters (6.07 feet). The maximum speed was 110 km/h (68 mi/h). There were built of this model 120 pieces. The locomotive was built by the firm "Werkspoor" in Amsterdam. The first 30 models of this series were built by Beyer Peacock Company located in Gorton in Manchester, England. The Machinists and firemans found the engines of the 3700 most comfortable to drive, they called them "Jumbo". The 3737 is the only one left of the 120 locomotives and is not roadworthy at this time.
