Wood fibre insulation - Window detail in clad facade - Step Three

Chris Brookman
Ideally, with the window in place, the membrane can be attached to the facade and counter-battened over to hold everything in place. However, this step can be completed prior to installing the windows if required. Ensure the stud positions are marked on the surface of the wood fibre boards and then using the Ampacoll Double Seal double sided tape, apply vertical strips directly to the surface of the wood fibre boards at no more than 1m centres and bond the membrane to the surface. Mark the stud positions on the membrane as you go. Tape the joints in the membrane and apply the counter-battens to the surface, except those directly adjacent to the window openings. The fixings must penetrate the studs by at least 40mm. Apply Ampacoll Fenax tape to the openings to seal against the window opening as per the model and then finalise the counter-batten installation.
