The Bench (Lower Bench) is usually an element of urban furnishings: it is a seat that can accommodate more people, usually located outdoors in public areas such as squares or parks. It is usually made of wood, stone or metal and may or may not have armrests. But it is also easy to find plastic material, especially for garden houses.
In Team Sports, this term indicates athletes who are not employed by the holders and the physical location they are in, ready to be used if the trainer needs their presence in the field. In a figurative sense, the coach occupies the team bench or is called on the bench by a company; it is therefore the metaphor of the team itself.
