Plywood/Drywall Dolly

Plywood/Drywall Dolly

Donny F.
This sheet goods dolly will hold a single sheet of plywood, drywall, etc. up to 1" thick. Just place the dolly next to the plywood, lift one end of the plywood and pivot it onto the dolly. Vertical supports on one side keep everything upright - even when you walk away (indoors/no wind). Width of the slot could be increased to hold more than 1 sheet but it may not be able to stand unattended without tipping over. Although it uses fixed casters, it's still maneuverable by pressing down on one end (to slightly lift the wheels on the opposite end) then moving the near end to the left or right to change direction. With a couple of bungee cords to hold the dolly to the sheet of plywood, it can even go (be carried) up and down stairs. It's quick , easy, and dirt cheap to build with a cost of around $25 (not including the tennis balls). Be sure when building it to drill the holes for the dowels perfectly perpendicular to the base. Bill of materials: One 2x4 One 48" x 1/14" dowel rod Four 3" casters (like these: https://harborfreight.com/3-inch-x-7-8-eighth-inch-rubber-rigid-caster-66363.html )
